The October Auction

The October Auction saw strong results across the board, as top-of-the-market prices were achieved in all collecting categories. The top lot of the sale was a still life oil painting catalogued as the manner of 17th century Spanish artist Antonio de Pereda. The painting quickly caught international attention as dealers and collectors traveled to view the painting in person during the exhibition. After a spirited bidding war between several bidders on the phone and in the room, the painting soared above its estimate selling to a bidder in attendance for $817,400.
